Head Vet
I passed with honours from UCD Dublin, Ireland in 2002. I crossed the pond to work for 7 years in Manchester before venturing south to work for Village Vets and found them to be a perfect fit for how I wanted to practice veterinary medicine.
I have worked for Village Vet for just over 9 years now and have never been happier. The Highgate team feels like a real family and we like to think we provide a high standard of veterinary care, are extremely approachable and we tailor our care to our clients’ individual needs.
Although I enjoy all aspects of general practice from the young ones to the oldies I have a particular passion for Feline medicine, ultrasound, oncology and dentistry. I have completed my GPcert in feline practice(ESVPS) and have started my Feline medicine certificate from the University of Sydney and hope to complete the exams by the end of 2021. This will help further my knowledge and practical skills in all things cat-related!
We take a very proactive approach to dental care in our small animals that has often been missing in UK veterinary practise with current thinking suggesting that prevention of dental disease is key to animals, both cats and dogs, long term health. I am one of the Dental leaders within our group of practices and aim to provide up to date dental treatment/surgery and advice for our furry friends.
Outside of the practice I am a Gym obsessive plus love a good night at the movies and walking Vinnie my dog. I’m also the owner of 5 cats… a Bengal, 3 Norwegian Forest cats and a blind moggie. Very busy household some may call a zoo.
