Your Pet

It takes a long time for vets and nurses to qualify because,  unlike human doctors, they need to know all about many different species of animal – not just one.

At Village Vet, over 90% of the pets that we look after are dogs and cats, but we also have a huge variety of other amazing pets under our care, including guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, degus, chickens, reptiles, spiders, sugar gliders, meercats and pot-bellied pets, to name but a few!

Each species of pet have to be treated differently, and given the right nutrition and preventative health care to have a long and happy life in your home.

The following pages are designed to give you more information and advice about your pet’s health, and an overview of some of the conditions that some species are susceptible to.

If you cannot find the information that you need about your pet, please use the ‘ask your vet’ tab on the front page, or phone your local Village Vet practice for advice
