Practice Cat

My name is Nellie and I am the most important member of the team at Village Vet Southgate.

I was brought in by a kind lady who found me dodging traffic on the North Circular. I was emaciated, filthy and scared and my teeth were rotting away. As you can imagine, I was feeling very worse for wear, but this was until the lovely girls at Southgate took me under their wing and made me better.

I have made the most of my new home since then and now enjoy sunning myself in reception and getting spoilt rotten by my fan-club, some of whom come in just to see me!

However, I do also have an important role to play. I am one of the Village Vet cat blood donors, which means if a cat comes in who is very ill and needs a blood transfusion, the girls take some of my blood to help make the cat better. I’ve only had to do it once so far, as there are other cats who also do this – you should never take blood from a cat too often. We are always looking for cat blood donors. If you think your feline friend could be as special as me, you can always come in and talk to the girls in Southgate

You can follow my daily adventures on Facebook and Instagram.
