Kirsten Laidlaw

Originally from Scotland Kirsten qualified as a Veterinary nurse in 2015 and has been at Village Vet Longstanton since early 2016.

Kirsten knew she wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse after carrying out several work experience blocks at a local vet as a teenager. The prospect of staying on at school for another few years, however, did not overly appeal, so she joined the army at 16 and qualified as a radio technician.

During a six month posting in the Falkland Islands Kirsten helped the RAF Police Dog Section look after their dogs during her free time. It was here she realised that she still really wanted to train as a veterinary nurse, so left the army after five years service.

Kirsten moved to Cambridge to complete her nurse training where she met her husband, Tom. They now live together in Huntingdon with their Springer Spaniel Bella.
