Dr Livia Benigni
Specialist (board-certified) in diagnostic imaging
Dr Benigni heads up our diagnostic imaging department at Village Vet’s sister clinic London Veterinary Specialists (LVS). She has won many accolades for her work in this field and is recognised by the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation. Prior to her current role, Dr Benigni worked for 14 years at the Royal Veterinary College’s Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, one of Europe’s largest referral and most highly respected hospitals.
Dr Benigni graduated in 1997 from the University of Pisa in Italy, followed by three years of working in internal medicine (cardiology) at the National Veterinary School of Alfort near Paris (France) and in private practice in the French capital. She then moved to London to train as a diagnostic imaging specialist at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), University of London, where she was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (CertVDI). In 2005, she also gained the European Diploma in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (DipECVDI).
Dr Benigni worked at the RVC for another decade as a faculty member and clinical radiologist until 2015. During her time in the academic world, Dr Benigni received the Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCertAP) and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
