Head Vet   Simon Hayes - BVM&S MRCVS

Simon Hayes qualified from Edinburgh University in 1994 and has been working in small animal practice ever since. Simon is a member of the British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists and as well as being a general practitioner has a further interest in veterinary ophthalmology.

Simon is a partner at the Winchmore Hill and Southgate practices. Together with his wife, Miriam, they have 3 children, 2 cats, a Border Terrier, fish, frogs and chickens.


Head Surgeon   Neil MacLeod - BVM&S MRCVS

Neil qualified from Edinburgh University in 1996.Since graduation Neil has worked in small animal practices in Yorkshire, Hertfordshire, and also spent 12 months living and working in Australia. He joined our Winchmore Hill practice in 2005 where he continues to persue his particular area of interest which is surgery, and he is currently studying towards a certificate in Small Animal Surgery.

Together with his wife he owns a black Labrador called Dillion, and outside work he enjoys climbing, skiing, scuba and travel.



Vet   Talia Teren - MA VetMB MRCVS

Talia joined Village Vet in September 2006. Since graduating from Cambridge University Veterinary School in 2002, she has worked in small animal practice in Berkshire and London. In 2005, Talia took up a voluntary vet position with a charity clinic, the SPCA, in Fiji. During her time there, she worked with the local central team and operated field clinics in the more remote islands. Aside from treating individual animals, the clinics were designed to promote animal welfare and improve education.

Talia will be working towards a Certificate in Advanced Medicine. She has a cat, Mungo, and enjoys photography, surfing and snowboarding.



Vet: Winchmore Hill   Alison Marney - BVM&S CertSAM MRCVS

Alison graduated from Edinburgh University in 1993.

After three years in mixed practice in Yorkshire, she moved to Australia where she spent four years in first opinion and referral practice. She also completed a post-graduate programme in internal medicine through the University of Sydney.

In 2000, Alison joined the Winchmore Hill practice and in 2003 was awarded the Certificate in Small Animal Medicine by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Her professional interests include diagnostic ultrasonography and cardiorespiratory medicine. Her interests outside of work include dance, Spanish and playing piano.

Alison lives with her husband, daughter, and a ginger cat called Harry.



Group Head of Anaesthesia   Jessica Paterson BSc(Hons) DVM MVSc MRCVS

Jessica was born and raised in the wilds of northern British Columbia, Canada. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2003 and stayed on at WCVM to complete an anaesthesia residency followed by a year as an associate professor of anaesthesiology. Tempted by adventure, she found her way to London in 2008 and received a warm welcome from Village Vet. Jessica enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and her special areas of interest include zoo and wildlife anaesthesia, pain management, and critical care. Outside of work Jessica enjoys exploring London, and long distance running with Rocket, her small but speedy terrier.



Head Nurse   Claire Rogers RVN

Claire has been qualified as a nurse since 2001. She has been Head Nurse at Village Vet for 3 and half years. She is a qualified nurse training assessor for 5 years and a Hills Nutritional advisor. Claire enjoys reception work, surgery and nursing clinics. In her personal time she enjoys horse riding and local competitions. She lives with her fiance Nick and has a horse called Neo.



Nurse   Michelle Bullock BSc RVN

Michelle graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2008 and became a permanent staff member at Village Vet Winchmore Hill in 2009. Michelle's personal interests include intensive care nursing, neonatal care and nurse clinics. Outside work Michelle enjoys travelling and Wildlife conservation. She has been in rainforest conservation in Borneo and Sea turtle conservation in Nicaragua where she also conducted biodiversity surveys on various species. Michelle has recently spent time travelling through Central and South America. She lives with her family and two cats, Bailey and Gypsy.



Nurse   Katie-Jayne Duke

Katie is one of our Level 3 Trainee Nurses. She especially enjoys surgical nursing, puppy parties, kitten and puppy nurse clinics as well as working on reception. In her personal time she enjoys: horse riding, walking her dog, movies and spending time with friends and family. She lives with her mum, dad and younger sister and has a Labrador (Lucy) and six goldfish!



Nurse   Sarah Butler RVN

Sarah qualified as a nurse at a vet hospital in Wanstead. She has a PHC certificate and is a trainee nurse assessor at Village Vet. Sarah is also a Hill's Nutritional Advisor. Sarah especially enjoys being involved in surgery. Sarah enjoys nurse clinics and continuing education. In her private life she enjoys horse riding, walking, socialising with friends and family and travelling! Sarah lives with her mum, dad and brother and has a 2 yr old Chihuahua smooth coat called Pedro and a 4 yr old black cat called Noddy.



Head Receptionist   Lisa Dyksman

Lisa has a BSc in Human Physiology degree from the University of Pretoria, RSA. She is currently completing her BSc (HONS) in Psychology and has completed the Hills Veterinary Nutritional advisor course. She particularly enjoys looking after clients and is our Head Receptionist. In her personal time she enjoys: travel, wildlife, reading, movies and spending time with family and friends. Lisa has two very missed pets in South Africa: Sabrina (bulldog) and Morgan (boxer). She lives in London.



Receptionist   Hayley Siebers

Hayley holds a journalism degree from Nelson Mandela Metro University in South Africa and a Certificate in small business management from Russell Rd College, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She enjoys writing, being organised and doing things properly! In her personal time she enjoys: travelling, history, politics, childcare and wildlife. Hayley lives in London with her husband and their first son is due in April. She also has a pet cat in London called Frankie whilst Doug, Sally, Trixie, Brownie. Pippin and Gigi are her pets in South Africa.



Receptionist   Julie Hughes

Julie holds a BTEC Diploma in Art and Design from the University of Hertfordshire. She helps keep reception organised and well decorated with her arty talent! In her personal time she enjoys keeping fit by going to the gym every week, spending time reading and travelling. She also loves socialising with her friends and spending time at home with her family. Julie likes to eat out at restaurants, shopping and dancing the weekends away!!! She lives at home with her mum, dad, sister and brother and has two ginger and white cats Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers!



Receptionist   Jenny Smith

Jenny is studying to be a vet: so far she has a Bsc in Veterinary Science from the Royal Vet College with a specialisation in skeletal pathobiology. She particularly enjoys the study of bone biology and joint diseases. In her personal time she enjoys: jewellery and card making, dog training and shopping! She has four guinea pigs and a very bouncy boxer called Loki.



nurse   Bryony Dobson

Bryony moved from Cornwall to London to study her BTec National Diploma in Animal Management and is about to start her Level Two Veterinary Nurse training at Village Vet in September this year. She lives with her boyfriend Aaron. Back home, Bryony has a dog named Zion and a pony with the name of Nutty. Here in London she has a pet tortoise called Charlie. Bryony loves shopping, going to the cinema and socialising with friends
