Rabbits and all other small furry animals
The main difference between dogs, cats and the other small furry pets we like to keep is: Dogs and cats are predators - they chase and kill other animals to eat. Rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, mice etc are prey - they are chased by bigger animals for food. So, when you want to feed or play with your pet they may think they are in danger, which is why sometimes they bite or try to run away. Instead try the following:
* Sing or talk gently as you approach your pet, letting then know you are there.
* Avoid waking your pet up; they will most probably be grumpy and very scared.
* Once your pet is awake, pick them up gently, don't squeeze too hard - they are very delicate!
* Don't pull their ears or pick them up by their tail, you wouldn't like to be held in the air by your big toe!
