Acupuncture at our Garden Suburb surgery
Tram, the cat, lives with a black labrador called Noshy, a lovely baby boy - Casey and their glamorous mum Lisa. Tram is 17 and has an overactive thyroid for which she is undergoing treatment. Unfortunately, she was also suffering from pain in the hips and lumbar spine which had been gradually increasing. In February this year Danny Parry (Head Vet at Village Vet, Garden Suburb) recommended a course of acupuncture to help Tram. Tram was very grumbly and hissy whenever examined in this area and reluctant to move around and jump at home. Lisa didn't note any improvement at first, but by the third session Tram's demeanor had improved significantly. She had started bouncing round her garden again like a kitten! Since then Tram has been coming in for regular sessions. She does grumble and hiss when palpated in the lumbar area at the beginning of the consultation, but then she stretches out on the consult table, kneading her claws and purring during her acupuncture session while Noshy asks for treats and Casey plays with stickers, a ball and our giant rubber flea! If you feel that Acupuncture could also help your cat or dog, then contact your local Village Vet for more advice.
