Village Vet's very own Vivian celebrated another award at Crufts this year with her dear Papillon, Toby. On Toy Dog Day (held on Thursday) Toby came fifth out of ten in the Papillon Veteran class.
This is Toby's fourth win at Crufts; he has previously come second, followed by a first the following year in the Limit Class (a very difficult class to win) and two years ago he won first in Veteran Class. Every dog has to qualify for entry to Crufts but given that Toby qualified with his stud book number in 1999 and his previous victories, he now qualifies automatically for life. Vivian is very proud of her little boy as he is now ten years of age, but without Simon Hayes (Principal Vet at Winchmore Hill) none of this would have happend. "Simon told me that Toby's mother, Jasmin, should have a litter, and I subsequently decided to kepp one of her puppies", explains Vivian. "I would not have had this glory without his advice and I thank Simon very much for giving me this opportunity."
