Isn't it time to start celebrating dog ownership again?
We believe that the joy of dog ownership is under threat. Adverse publicity towards 'dangerous dogs', general ignorance about dog behaviour and poor understanding of the basics of responsible dog ownership all threaten the wonderful relationship that millions of people enjoy with their dog in this country. This is all compounded by the plethora of information on the web, some excellent, some less informative…. some downright dangerous.
This year, Village Vet will be launching a number of 'dogsense' initiatives aimed at fighting these threats. These include: a series of roadshows across London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, further development of behaviour expertise amongst our vets and nurses and the provision of promotional tools to support our message to keen owners and dog experts like you. A key focus will be promotion of our top 10 tips for responsible dog ownership - feel free to download and distribute our tip sheet. Our behaviour expert, Jamie Rushton is also writing a blog on this critical area and we are developing an article base so that this site can act as a hub for sensible debate, discussion and sharing of expertise.
Watch this space! If you want to get involved in promoting positive 'dogsense' messages in your local community then email us at: dogsense@villagevet.co.uk.
